On April 28, 2009, during the pinnacle of the Swine Flu "epidemic" in Mexico, the Mexican Senate managed to get out of their beds, wear their ridiculous paper (literally paper) thin face masks and OK’d the bill that allows people in Mexico to carry minuscule amounts of drugs without facing a punishment. I hope you caught the plurality of the word DRUG. Yes, the commonly know “marijuana bill” not only allows people to carry 5grams of the magical grass but it also allows to carry without persecution 2 grams of Opium, 50 milligrams of Heroin, 500 milligrams of cocaine, 0.015 grams of LCD, and a tablet not to exceed 200 milligrams, of Methamphetamine. The quote that so many live by “ain't no party like a Mexican party” stays close to the hearts of these great men and women of the Mexican congress...pff! PRD Senator Pablo Gomez says and I quote (with translation) “ Well, for marijuana, which was the issue that was bothering me, no one buys it clean, its full of sticks, stems and seeds etc…five grams is on what we have settled.” Violators also, will not have to face a federal court because the bill states that now state governments and municipal governments will comprise the severity of the crime.Just another excuse to pass it down the chain of command of Mexico's already extremely weak Legilative and Judicial sectors of the government. This according to the senate is beneficial towards a more stable control of the already irrepressible drug violence problem.
